Area runners compete in Houston Marathon

      HOUSTON - Wharton County was well represented in Sunday's Chevron Houston Marathon. East Bernard cross country and assistant girls track coach Susie Walters ran in her eighth straight marathon. She finished the 26.2 mile course with a 3:10.02.

      SEALY - Wharton's girls basketball team took sole possession of the District 24-3A after beating Sealy 76-38 Tuesday night in Tiger Gymansium. Wharton improve to 6-1 and played 4-3 Sweeny last night. The Lady Bulldogs upset Columbia 35-33.

      BOLING - Boling's girls basketball team came away with a convincing 83- 26 win over Houston Can Academy in Friday's District 27-2A contest in The Dog House. The win left Boling with a 2-5 record entering Tuesday's game against Hitchcock.
