Bail jumper named 'most wanted'

A bail jumper has been named El Campo Police's "Most Wanted" and a reward is being offered for his capture.

Arturo Robledo Garcia, 36, whose last known address was 1008 Pinchot in El Campo, is wanted on Wharton County Sheriff's Office warrants for failure to appear to face a charge of driving while intoxicated with a child passenger. Garcia is 5-feet, 7-inches tall and weighs 170 pounds.

The Most Wanted program pays cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of those charged with felonies.

The program is a team effort of the El Campo Leader-News, the El Campo Police Department and West Wharton County Crime Stoppers.

Of the 14 suspects sought in the Most Wanted program in its first year, nine were captured. Five of those captures can be directly attributed to the program. In October, two fugitives were featured and both were captured in less than a week after appearing in the paper. West Wharton County Crime Stoppers will pay cash rewards for information leading to the arrest and grand jury indictment of wanted felons.

Crime Stoppers callers do not have to give their names to qualify for a reward.

Call Crime Stoppers at 979- 543-8477 if you have any information that could lead police to Garcia.
