A lot of levers
Wharton Fire Chief Bobby Barnett, center, demonstrates to Wharton City Councilman David Samuelson how to operate a water cannon on the department's new pumper truck. The vehicle was delivered this week, driven down from Appleton, Wis. where it was built. It was supposed to be delivered earlier this month, but winter weather up north delayed the trip. City council members and city officials got an up-close look at the $550,000 machine after Monday's council meeting. The truck will be put into service by next month.
