Wharton swim teams prevail over El Campo
      EL CAMPO - Wharton's boys and girls swim teams competed in a dual meet with county rival El Campo Monday night at the El Campo Aquatic Center. Wharton's girls totaled up 106 points and El Campo finished with 68 points. Wharton's boys team totaled up 94 points and El Campo didn't field a team.

Brahmas collar Bulldogs for initial District 27-2A victory
      EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's boys basketball team got into the District 27-2A win column by beating county rival Boling 69-50 Friday night at Brahma Gymnasium. The Brahmas entered Tuesday's road game against rival Brazos with a 1-2 record.

Tigers clip Jays for third district victory
      NEEDVILLE - Wharton's boys basketball team improved to 3-0 in the District 24-3A standings after beating rival Needville 55-49 Friday night in Bluejay Gymnasium. The Tigers hosted Stafford, which was 2-1, last night and the Jays were 1- 2 before playing Royal, which was 2-1.

Lady Tigers still tied for District 24-3A lead
      Wharton's girls basketball team beat rival Needville 78-44 Friday night in Tiger Gymnasium to improve to 4-1 in District 24-3A play. The Lady Tigers played Stafford, which had the same record, on Tuesday. The Lady Spartans beat Sealy on Friday.

      EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's girls basketball team waited until the second half to put away Wharton County rival Boling Friday night at Brahma Gymnasium.       STAFFORD - Wharton's two 7th grade boys basketball teams dropped district games to Stafford on Monday. The Red Team dropped a 27- 16 decision to fall to 1-5 in league play and to 1-7 on the season. Jamarquin Jordan led the Tigers with eight points.

      EAST BERNARD - The East Bernard 7th grade boys basketball team beat Brazos 39-19 and Ganado 41-10 Saturday to claim the East Bernard Invitational Tournament.       EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's 7th and 8th grade girls basketball teams picked up district wins over rival Brazos Monday afternoon in The Barn. The 7th grade team won 23- 20 and improved to 2-4 on the season. Terralyn Williams led the Brahmarettes with 10 points.
