Tigers go 2-3 in Eddie Nelson tourney
Wharton boys continue District 24-3A schedule

BAY CITY - Wharton's boys basketball team went 2-3 in the Eddie Nelson Invitational Tournament which was completed last Saturday in Black Cat Gymnasium.
Wharton beat host Bay City 50-42 in first round game last Wednesday.
The Tigers beat district foe Columbia 59-43 later in the day.
Then Friday, Wharton lost to Galena Park 53-50 and to Fort Bend Travis 55-48.
Wharton then lost to Sweeny 69-62 on Saturday for the third place trophy.
Jordan Kirschke totaled 65 points in the five games. Kenneth Phynon finished with 34.
Odis Thompson finished with 35. Jonavan Jones and K.C. Curtis scored 28 each, Keemon Jones added 26 points, and Ronard Jackson finished with 12 points.
Jullian Waddy and Luis Byars scored six each.
Wharton resumed it's District 24-3A schedule on Friday and was 2-0 before playing at rival Needville. The Jays were 1-1.
Sweeny was 2-0 before playing Columbus who was 0-2.
Stafford was 1-1 before playing Sealy who had the same record.
