Eduvigen Rodriguez
Eduvigen "Cune" Rodriguez, age 50, of Wharton, died Sunday, Dec. 30, 2007 in a Corpus Christi hospital following a brief illness. He was born on June 17, 1957 in Sinton, the son of Eduvigen Fira and Ignacia Rodriguez.
Mr. Rodriguez was a longtime resident of Wharton. He attended Sinton and Wharton schools. Mr. Rodriguez worked in the maintenance department for Texas Department of Transportation for more than 27 years. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle and even built a trike. Mr. Rodriguez was very involved with Los Malos Motorcycle Club out of Brazoria. He also enjoyed the rallies that the club would attend. Mr. Rodriguez attended Templo Bethel del Cladic Church in Wharton.
Visitation and a prayer service were held Wednesday evening, Jan. 2, 2008 at Wharton Funeral Home and a funeral service was held Jan. 3, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the chapel of Wharton Funeral Home with the Rev. Pablo Martinez officiating. Burial followed in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery in Wharton.
Pallbearers were Chris Garcia, Martin Bentancur, Frank Bentancur, Rick Scotka, Vincent Rodriguez and Ruben Hernandez.
Survivors include his wife, Estella Rodriguez of Wharton; daughters, Joanna Gomez and husband, Robert Perales, of Wharton, Martha Daubenspeck and husband, James, of Corpus Christi and Veronica Maria Rodriguez of Wharton; brothers, Eloy Fira and wife, Sarah Pena, of Wharton, Hector Alvarez Jr. and wife, Amelia, of El Campo and Victor Alvarez of Houston; sisters, Leonora Estrada and husband, Louis of Lubbock, Lydia Alvarez of El Campo, Minerva Gutierrez and husband, Bob, of Houston and Delfina Duran and husband, Ray, of Houston; four grandchildren, Alexandria Avila, Ciara Nicole Perales, Mallorie Marie Daubenspeck and Dominique Paige Daubenspeck.
Funeral services were under the direction of Wharton Funeral Home.
