HALLETTSVILLE - The Boling Bulldog hoop squad will not be carrying any momentum into the coming weekend's play from last weekend as they dropped at least three games at the Hallettsville Round Robin Tournament.
In last Friday's tourney action, the Bulldogs lost to the host team by a 95-24 margin. Boling trailed at the half 53-9 and failed to place a player in double figure scoring. Justin Hobbs led the team with seven points while Thomas Felder finished with six and Dupree Taylor, five.
In the second game, Edna took down the Bulldogs 73-31. Dennis Hemphill scored 20 to lead Boling. Felder and Justin Hobbs were next high with seven each.
Friday marks a return to district play for all three area schools, Wharton, Boling and East Bernard.
Boling and East Bernard will renew their Wharton County and District 27-2A rivalry in East Bernard with a girls-boys doubleheader.
The girls varsity game starts at 6 p.m. with the boys varsity contest tipping off at 7:30 p.m.

Friday's game will be the second in as many days for the Boling girls. They will be in El Campo on Thursday to take on the Lady Ricebirds. The JV start at 5:30 p.m. with the varsity playing at 7 p.m.
Other 27-2A matchups for Friday are girls-boys doubleheaders with Brazos at Hitchcock, Van Vleck at Danbury and YES College Prep at Houston Can Hobby.
