Chester Amos

Funeral services for Chester Amos, 81, of Wharton, will be held at 2 p.m. today, Saturday, at East Gate/New Prosperity Baptist Church with Rev. R. Taylor III officiating. Burial will follow in Camp Zion Cemetery.

Mr. Amos died Dec. 23, 2007 at Garden Villa Nursing Home in El Campo. He was born June 17, 1926 in Crosby to Walter and Essie Champion Amos.

Survivors include sons, Forrest Clark of El Campo and Rufus Cheapham of Houston; and daughters, Corine Norman and Bertha Edwards, both of Wharton.
