Brahmarettes trash'Can' 69-17
The Brahmarettes played Van Vleck, which had the same record, on Tuesday night. Hitchcock, which the Bramarettes play at on Friday, was 2-0 before playing Can Academy last night. Danbury was 1-1 before playing Brazos, which had the same record. Boling was 0-2 before playing Yes College Prep, which had the same record. "It's nice to open up 2-0 with a tough week of district games coming up," said EB coach Ronnie Schmidt. East Bernard shutout Can 21-0 in the first quarter and went up 40-4 at halftime. The Brahmarettes outscored Can 15-2 in the third quarter to go up 55-6 and 14-11 in the final eight minutes of the game "It was another solid effort on both ends of the court," said Schmidt. "I really like our unselfishness on offense." Haley Dawson led the Brahmarette with 15 points. Ashley Segura, Bev Kresta, and Florence Wilson scored 11 points each. Tara Hlavinka added seven. Paula Lopez, Hillarie Blazek and Anna Giannetti scored four each. Roberta Pettite rounded out the scoring with two. In other games coming up Friday, Boling hosts Van Vleck, Brazos hosts Houston Can and Danbury hosts Yes Prep. 27-2A Standings
