      Some very well known and typically upstanding county citizens may find themselves handcuffed and behind bars Thursday. But it's for a good cause they say. The lockup is an annual fund-raiser for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Public records of persons booked into the Wharton County Jail
      Alcohol, drug charges Ernest Melendez, 38, 905 Roth, El Campo, was booked into Wharton County Jail on Monday for driving while intoxicated, failure to maintain financial responsibility and no drivers license. He was released at 9:30 a.m. Monday on $3,000 bond.
