Big Joe's Polka Fest returns to Carmine

The Big Joe Polka Fest returns to the Big Red Barn in Carmine which is located between Round Top and La Grange in February.
Despite temperatures in the 30's, polka fans filled the building at the first show in 2005.
This year's event will be held Feb. 21-24.
Each band will play 15 tunes for an hour.
The music starts at noon eachy day and continues until 10 p.m.
The event will be taped and broadcast over RFD TV which is on Direct TV and Dishnetwork.
Clips from the 2005 fest are still being broadcast on RFD.
Scheduled bands so far include The Praha Bros, Boene Village Band, Lazy Farmers, Czech And Then Some, Ray Krenek, Ranch Creek, The Sauerkrauts, Leon Olson, Czech Harversters, Al Sulak, Rabs Breek, Jimmy Brosch, Mark Halata & Texavia, Tony Janak, Batla Polka Time, The Dujka Brothers, San Antonio Combo, Jerry Haisler Melody Five, Ennis Czech Boys, Kovanda's Czech Band, Shiner Hobo's, The Music Masters, The Czechaholics and The Twighlights.
The Big Red Barn is located on Texas 415 South Highway 237. Advance tickets, priced at $15 per day, are now on sale. Tickets at the door are $17.50.
