Lady Tigers win 24-3A opener

      SWEENY - Wharton's girls basketball team handed Sweeny its first loss of the season with a convincing 65-54 decision in their District 24-3A opener Tuesday night in Bulldog Gymnasium. Both teams score 15 points in the first quarter but Wharton took control in the second, going up 32-23.

Bulldogs suffer 62-52 loss to Tidehaven

      BOLING - Boling slipped to 1-3 on the season after dropping a 62-52 decision to Tidehaven Tuesday night in The Doghouse. Tidehaven jumped out to a 18-11 lead after the first quarter and went up 33-24 at halftime.

Brahmarettes notch 44-34 win over Ganado Maidens
      EAST BERNARD - The East Bernard girls basketball team improved to 4-5 on the season after beating Ganado 44-34 Tuesday night in Brahma Gymnasium. Ganado jumped out to a 12-11 lead after the first quarter but East Bernard rallied to go up 27-19 at halftime.

      ALIEF - The Wharton boys basketball team dropped a 48-36 decision to Fort Bend Clements Thursday afternoon in the Outback Invitational Tournament at Taylor High School. Wharton played a second round game on Friday night against Hastings.

      FLATONIA - With only a few days practice under its belt, the East Bernard boys basketball team dropped its first game of the season to Flatonia 62- 22 Tuesday night. A handful of Brahma players were on the football team; which until recently was competing in the playoffs.
