Boling girls lose to Tidehaven in Leroy Miksch tournament

BOLING - The Boling girls basketball team slipped to 1-4 on the season after dropping a 46-37 decision to Tidehaven Saturday morning in the Leroy Miksch Invitational Tournament in Bluejay Gymnasium.

Tidehaven jumped out to a 10-6 lead after the first quarter but Boling rallied back to go up 16-14 at halftime.

The Tigerettes outscored the Lady Bulldogs 15-10 in the third quarter to go up 29-26 and 17-11 in the final eight minutes of the game.

Ebony Ashley led Boling with 12 points. Ash Lunford finished with eight. Kayla Montgomery and Jessica Moore scored five each.

Stephanie Rachunek added four. Paige Bucek scored two and Beth Llanas hit a free throw.

Boling had an open date on Tuesday and plays St. Pius at noon Thursday at the Royal Invitational Tournament in Brookshire.

The Lady Bulldogs visit Hitchcock next Tuesday in their District 27-2A opener.
