Wharton swim teams compete at Katy meet

KATY - Wharton's boys and girls swim teams ran into some stiff competition at Saturday's Katy ISD Invitational.

Wharton was the lone Class 3A school, swimming against one Class 4A and serveral Class 5A teams.

The boys team finished 12 among 14 teams with 16 points and the girls team finished 12th with 25 points.

Overall Wharton finished 12th with 49 points.

In relay events, the Wharton girls 200-yard medley relay team of Shea Flynn, Blair Zahn, Megan Lesak and Lizzie Roads finished 20th among 23 teams with a 2:15.41 time.

The boys team of Matthew Zahn, Taylor Cline, Johnny Castro and Robert Lee finished 18th with a 2:00.26.

The girls 200-yard mixed medley team of Flynn, Zahn , Castro and Cline finished 13th with a 2:07.

In girls individual races, Amand a Billings finished 13th among 37 swimmers in the 100-yard individual medley with a 1:13.06.

Flynn finished 16th among 50 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle with a 28.25. Lesak was 26th with a 29.80.

Blaire Zahn finished 15th among 44 swimmers in the 50-yard backstrorke with a 37.84.

She finished 15th among 36 swimmers in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:24.44

Lesak finished 27th among 46 swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle with a 1:08.41 and Roades was 32nd with a 1:10.24.

Billings finished 21st among 39 swimmers in the 100-yard backstroke with a 1:14.49.

In boys events, Castro finished 15th among 25 swimmers in the 100-yard individual medley with a 1:07.76.

Lee finished 12th among 47 swimmers in the 50-yard freestyle with a 24.72.

Matthew Zahn finished 18th among 38 swimmers in the 50-yard backstroke with a31.89.

Castro finished 17th among 27th swimmerrs in the 100-yard butterfly with a 1:19.29.

Cline finished 24th among 36 swimmers in the 50-yard backstroke with a 37.07.

Lee finished 25th among 48 swimmers in the 100-yard freestyle with a1;00.78. Zahn was 28th with a 1:02.46.

Tate Lowe finished 24th among 35 swimmers in the 50-yard butterfly with a 31 second time.

He finished 22nd among 33 swimmers in the100-yard backstroke with a 1:14.27.

And Cline finished 21st among 28 swimmers in the 100-yard breaststroke with a 1:21.55.

Both teams compete in the Alief Invitational this Saturday.
