Linda Garcia

Linda Ann Garcia, age 51, of Wharton died Friday, Nov. 30, 2007 at Gulf Coast Medical Center following an extended illness. She was born on Jan. 9, 1956 in Wharton, the daughter of the late Eleno Lara and Antonia Garcia Lara.

Mrs. Garcia had been a resident of Wharton all of her life and was a member of First Baptist Church in Wharton. She was a homemaker and was active in her church with prayer ministries and enjoyed sewing and spending time with her family and friends. She married Jesus Garcia on Feb. 25, 1988 in Wharton.

Besides her parents, she was also preceded in death by brothers, Joe Lara, Frank Lara and Wally Lara.

Visitation was held on Monday, Dec. 3, 2007 at Wharton Funeral Home Chapel. Following Cremation, Memorial services were held at 2 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2007 at First Baptist Church in Wharton with Rev. Mack Mathis officiating.

Survivors include her husband, Jesus Garcia of Wharton; son, Richard Allen Garcia of Wharton; and sister, Rose Mary Lara of The Woodlands.
