Chamber hosts open house next Tuesday
Wharton Chamber News

Downtown Wharton, with its restored county courthouse as its center piece, was the backdrop for the Wharton Chamber's biggest Christmas parade to date. And this Thursday, it again will be highlighted, as the downtown merchants are hosting an open house.

The Downtown Open House will be all day, from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.

It will be in conjunction with Open Mic Night at Milam Street Coffee Company with entertainment by Matt Thigpen.

Many towns don't even have a courthouse, let alone a courthouse of magnificence like Wharton's. That's in addition to an intact courthouse square, with historic structures on all sides.

It is truly the crown jewel of our community. We need to take full advantage of it, as it is, inviting both to our visitors and our own residents.

Moving on:

Chamber mixers are a long tradition among our members, so we decided to host one ourselves - right here at the

Chamber Office.

It will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 11, at the Chamber Office, 225 N. Richmond Road.

It's to say "thank you" to all our members and to wish all of you a Merry Christmas and a happy New Year. Refreshments and snacks will be served.
