Bulldogs drop season opener 67-39 BOLING - The Boling boys basketball team dropped it's season opener to Hallettsville 67-39 Tuesday night in The Doghouse. The score was tied 8-8 after the first quarter but Hallettsville outscored Boling 20-7 in the second to go up 28-15 at halftime. The Brahmas outscored the Bulldogs by the same score in the third quarter to take a 48- 22 lead. Hallettsville then added 19 points in the fourth quarter and Boling scored 17. Thomas Felder led the Bulldogs scoring attack with 15 points. Justin Hobbs finished with nine points and he also pulled down six rebounds and had two assists. Kalin Ray scored four points and he also had four rebounds. Sean Hollis hit a free throw and had four rebounds with two assists. Dennis Hemphill had two assists. James Davenport led the Brahmas with 16 points. Leland Walker finished with 10. Damaris Beford added six and Zach Kostelnik added four Boling played Gary and Needville in pool matches in the Leroy Miksch Invitational Tournament in Friday. The Bulldogs will play at least one more game today in Needville. Boling hosts Tidehaven on Tuesday and plays in the Sealy Invitational Tournament later in the week. |
