Boling girls beat Bellville for first win of the season

BOLING - The Boling girls basketball team beat Bellville 49-47 last Tuesday night in The Doghouse for their first win of the season.

Boling jumped out to a 14-8 lead after the first quarter and was up 24-21 at halftime.

The Lady Bulldogs outscored Bellville 12-9 in the third quarter to go up 36-30. The Lady Raiders rallied back in the final eight minutes of the game to cut the final margin to two.

Kierra Jackson led the Lady Bulldogs with 13 points. She also had 12 rebounds, five blocked shots and a steal.

Ebony Ashley finished with 11 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Stephanie Rachunek had nine points and five rebounds.

Jessica Moore contributed with eight points, four rebounds and two steals. Beth Llanes scored six points and had four rebounds and two steals.

Janice Arriaga had two points and an assist.

Boling hosted Royal last night and plays Louise at 6 p.m. Thursday at the Leroy Miksch Invitational Tournament in Needville.
