Yackel, Stockbauer tell their wedding plans

Mona and Don will recite their wedding vows on Dec. 31 in Victoria.

Mona Jane Yackel of Shiner and Don Marcus Stockbauer of Victoria announce their engagement.

The couple will marry at 6 p.m. on Dec. 31, at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in Victoria.

Mona is the daughter of James and Sylvia Yackel of East Bernard. She is a graduate of Gonzales High School and the University of Houston at Victoria with a bachelor of science degree in elementary education. She was formerly employed by Shiner Independent School District and she is currently employed by the Victoria ISD. Mona is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Eddie Pavlas and Mr. and Mrs. Ed Yackel, all formerly of Wharton.

Don is the son of Elizabeth Stockbauer and the late Fred F. Stockbauer. He is a graduate of St. Joseph High School and the University of Texas at Austin with a bachelor of arts degree in astronomy. He is a former NASA employee in Houston and now manages the family ranch.
