Parade attracts record number of participants
Wharton Chamber News

We enjoyed a record 83 entries in the Nov. 20 Chamber of Commerce Christmas Parade.

We thank all the participants and all the entries for the grand success.

The previous record was 63 entries - so 83 is not too shabby.

The chamber office has been getting a steady stream of calls wanting to know the winners. Go no farther. Here they are:

Non-Commercial Float

First Place - Red Hot Christmas Belles of the Red Hat Society in Wharton.

Second Place - Belle's of the Ball of Girling Health Care in Wharton.

Commercial Float

First Place - Creative Care Children School in Wharton.

Second Place - Kids World Child Development Center.

Vehicle First Place - Muffler Plus from El Campo.

Second Place - The Red Russelers from Wharton High School.

Marching

First Place - Arc Angels and Silver Wings Skate Team from El Campo.

Sec- ond Place - Wharton County Junior College Marching Band. Equestrian

First Place - Convenient Child Care Learning Center from Boling.

Second Place - All The Little Things Count from Wharton.

We also want to thank the Downtown Business Coalition for organizing the Decorating Contest. It, too, was a big success, and we want to help recognize the winners:

First Place - Miss Priss Originals.

Second Place - Bohemian Rhapsody.
