More volunteers needed at SHARE

Besides donated food to help needy families, SHARE is in dire need of volunteers.

"We are really understaffed," says volunteer Paulette Kirkpatrick. "Especially on Thursdays."

SHARE has been serving needy families for the past 22 years and some of the original volunteers are still working.

Kirkpatrick said those volunteers were retired then and not getting any younger.

There is a need for a new generation of volunteers to step forward and pick up the reins.

Volunteers can pick and choose the hours they would like to help out. They do not have to be there each Monday or Thursday.

To volunteer, go by SHARE at 229 W. Milam Street and visit with one of the directors from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday or Thursday.
