Plantation offers Christmas tour

Christmas takes a more traditional role at the Varner-Hogg Plantation next month in West Columbia.

On Saturday, Dec. 1, step back in time to the 1850s with an evening tour of the Varner- Hogg Plantation House and experience the magic of a Victorian Christmas.

Crafts for the children, such as ornament paiting and silhouette making, as well as refreshments will be available during the event.

Santa himself will also make a guest appearance and promises to listen to Christmas wishes and to take photos with visitors of all ages.

Tours of the house - given by docents in period dress - will be free to the public from 6 to 8 p.m.
