Cowboy Christmas schedule of events

County and city team up to make downtown walkways handicapped accessible

      People with disabilities will soon find it more convenient to get in and out of the Wharton County Courthouse now that county commissioners have agreed to participate in a sidewalk improvement project with the city of Wharton.

ECPD not planning on implementing Tasers

      Although the Wharton County Sheriff's Office has issued Tasers to its deputies, the El Campo Police Department has no plans to do so anytime soon. Tasers are a high-voltage stun gun meant to provide law enforcement with a non-lethal means to subdue a suspect.

Boling FFA wins sweepstakes at District III leadership contests
      The Boling FFA Chapter competed at the District III FFA Leadership developments held at Wharton County Junior College on Nov. 6. More than 30 schools of all classifications are in District III and competed in 12 leadership events.
