Brahmas get over playoff hump with 38-27 win
East Bernard draws Troy in area round matchup next Friday

      EL CAMPO - East Bernard's football team snapped a six-game bi-district playoff losing streak Friday night by beating Hallettsville 38-27 at Ricebird Stadium. The Brahmas, representing Wharton County, last had a playoff win came in 1999 over Shiner.

Lady Tiger cagers dealt 48-46 loss by Bay City
      Wharton's girls basketball team dropped a 48-46 decision to Bay City Friday night in Tiger Gymnasium to slip to 2-1 on the season. The Lady Tigers beat Bay City 56- 53 last Friday. Wharton jumped out to a 7-6 lead after the first quarter built a 29-13 halftime advantage.

      EAST BERNARD - A 13- minute drought proved costly for East Bernard's girls basketball team in Tuesday's season opener against Tidehaven. The Tigerettes took advantage of the Brahmarettes poor shooting to win 35-22 at Brahma Gymnasium.

      WALLIS - Boling and East Bernard were both represented on the All-District 27-2A volleyball team which was selected last month at Brazos High School. EB sophomore Candice Dusek shared Newcomer-ofthe Year honors with Danbury sophomore Bailey Vrazel.
