Greenroom Players offer The Elephant Man today
      The Wharton County Junior College Greenroom Players present their fall production of Bernard Pomerance's The Elephant Man. The play is a dramatic narrative of the life of the "Elephant Man" John Merrick as collected from the memoirs of his physician, Frederick Treves.

Pageant seeks participants
      For those single, and between the ages of 13 and 18, applications are now being accepted for the title of 2008 "Miss Teen Wharton." Miss Teen Wharton will represent her area at the Miss Teen Texas Pageant to be held at the Scottish Rite Auditorium in San Antonio on April 11 to 13.
