Airline to run from Victoria to Dallas Southern Skyways, a scheduled public charter operated by Private Air Charters, announced recently that non-stop jet service will soon be available between Victoria and Dallas via DFW and DAL airports. Flights will begin Dec. 2, 2007. Southern Skyways will initially offer daily service except Saturdays with fares ranging from $119 to $169 each way, depending upon availability at the time seats are booked. "We believe that Victoria is greatly underserved and very much over looked by the network air carriers," said Cary Evans, executive vice president of Southern Skyways. "Studies conducted by the Victoria Regional Airport Commission have clearly shown that Dallas is in high demand and people currently either drive to another airport for non-stop service or just drive to Dallas by automobile. As a result, we see the opportunity to meet this documented demand here and in other markets where air service is limited, expensive and requires a change in airplanes in a hub." According to Suzan Desotelle, Vice President of Airline and Airport Operations, "Southern Skyways will offer roundtrip flights from Victoria, Texas and Dallas using Dornier 328J regional jet aircraft with seating for 30 passengers. This aircraft is exceptionally quiet and comfortable for passengers." Ms. Desotelle added, "The schedule is designed to appeal to both the business traveler and the leisure traveler."
