Veterans programs planned Monday

Veterans Day programs have been highlighting this week's activities at Wharton schools.

There will be more community and Boling ISD programs to honor veterans on Monday.

On Thursday, Nov. 8, the third grade choir at Sivells Elementary School held four identical Veterans Day programs.

Thursday Dawson Elementary School's music department had its Veterans Day program featuring patriotic songs, poems and speeches.

Friday Hopper Elementary School had the colors presented by the Wharton High School Junior ROTC Color Guard.

Coming up this week will be:

The BHS Student Council invite all area veterans to its Veterans Day Program on Monday at 8:30 a.m. in the new gym at Boling High School.

Iago Junior High School Student Council will also host a Veterans Day Assembly on Monday in the gym starting at 9:30 a.m.

Monday Wharton Junior High School will have an assembly at 10:40 a.m. Wharton High School will also have a Veterans Day assembly Monday starting at 12:20 p.m.

The schools invite veterans of foreign wars to be special guests at all programs.

Parents and the public are also invited to attend.

Pilot Club of Wharton Inc. will sponsor its annual Veterans Day Program at 11 a.m. on Monday at the Veterans Memorial.

Avalon Place, 1405 Valhalla Drive, hosts a Veterans Day Ceremony at noon on Monday.

Wharton Nursing and Rehabilitation will offer a flag ceremony at 1 p.m. Monday entitled "Remembering Our Veterans' American Legion Post No. 87 and Ladies Auxiliaries" in the dining hall.

Families and veterans are invited to attend.
