Roy Jones

Roy Lee Jones, 65, of Wharton, passed away Oct. 30, 2007. He was born Aug. 12, 1942 in Bay City to the late George Thomas and Gladys Ocie Scott Jones.

Survivors include daughter, Beverly Miller of El Campo; son, Steve Jones of Wharton; niece, Nancy Klaiber and husband Edwin of Sweeny; nephews, Mike Gassen Sr. and wife Linda of Brazoria and Larry Gassen Sr. and wife Regina of Resaca, Ga.; and two grandchildren, Dana and Jarret Jones.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Eva Gassen Hancock; and brother, Fred Edward Jones.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 2, 2007 at Taylor Brothers Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Dubroc officiating. Interment will follow at a later date. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association.
