2007-2008 HUNTING SEASON

In addition to a hunting license, a migratory game bird stamp endorsement ($7) is required to hunt any migratory game bird, including mourning dove (a free Federal Sandhill Crane Permit also is required to hunt sandhill crane). An upland game bird stamp endorsement ($7) is required to hunt turkey, quail, or pheasant.

Special South Texas Zone - Sept. 1, 2, 8 and 9; Sept. 21 to Nov.
11 and Dec. 26 to Jan. 8.

High Plains Mallard Management Unit Sept. 15 to 23.

Archery only Season Sept. 29 to Nov. 2.

General Season:

South Texas, in 30 counties, Jan. 21 to Feb. 3.
• Javelina: Approximately 43 counties, Oct. 1 to Feb. 24.
Approximately 50 counties, Sept. 1 to Aug. 31.
Pheasant:
Chambers, Jefferson and Liberty counties Nov. 3 to Feb. 24.
• Quail:
Statewide (all counties) Oct. 27 to Feb. 24.
• Rio Grand Turkey:
Archery only season Sept. 29 to Nov. 2.
Fall Season:
