Boling JV suffers 48-16 loss to Hitchcock

BOLING - Boling's junior varsity football team dropped a 48-16 decision to Hitchcock Thursday afternoon at Bulldog Stadium.

Boling's Jarayl Spears scored on a 20-yard run with 9:49 remaining in the first quarter. Spears added the two-point converstion for an 8-0 lead.

Hitchcock answered with a touchdown and 2-point conversion before the quarter ended to go up 8-6.

The Bulldogs from Galveston Country picked up three touchdowns in the second quarter to go up 28-6.

Spears scored on a 4-yard run with 1:12 remaining until halftime.

Koby Sanchez added the 2- point conversion to make it 28- 14.

Hitchcock got a 45-yard touchdown pass with no time remaining to go up 34-14. The 2- point conversion made it 36-14.

After a scoreless third quarter, Hitchcock picked up two touchdowns in the final 10 minutes of the game to make the final 48-16.

Offensive standouts for Boling included Brandon Krushall, Spears and Sanchez.

Defensive standouts included Brent Stidevent, Rusty Vogler and Dustin Ortiz.

Boling, now 1-2 in District 27-2A play and 3-4 on the season, plays Brazos in Wallis next Thursday.
