Sweeny cruises to 52-21 district win over Tigers

      HITCHCOCK - In a battle of the Bulldogs, Boling came out on the short end of a 62-20 score against Hitchcock here Friday night. Hitchcock improved to 3-0 in the District 27-2A standings and clinched a playoff spot in the process. Boling slipped to 0-3.

Wharton volleyball team beats Sealy in 24-3A finale

      Wharton's volleyball team will learn today who it's Class 3A Region III bidistrict playoff opponent will be. Wharton beat Sealy 25-7, 29-27, 13- 25, 27-25 in the Lady Tigers' District 24-3A finale on Tuesday to finish at 10- 4 in league play.

      EAST BERNARD - Boling's third win over Wharton County rival East Bernard this year was it's most important. Before a crowd of more than 200 fans, the Lady Bulldogs beat the Brahmarettes 25-15, 25-13, 25-20 Tuesday night to claim the third and final District 27-2A playoffs spot.

      BROOKSHIRE - Wharton's boys track team ran into some stiff competiton at Monday morning's District 24-3A Championships. Runners battled the wind and rain after a cold front moved through area shortly before 9 a.m. Sealy took the team championship with 38 points.
