Liliana Johse
Mother-to-be,
Nancy Carlson Alvarez, was honored with a baby shower at the home of her parents
Tom and
Jackie Carlson in Wharton.
Massimo Sebastian Alvarez is due to arrive any time now. The shower was hosted by
Shannon Araya; Jama Britton; aunt,
Susie Carlson; Rosemary Francis; Jenifer Goudeau and
Donna Kubesch.
The table had delicate arrangements in blue. There was a Diaper Cake, a Bavarian cream cake with fondet icing with a pair of baby boots topping it.
A Mediterranean dish, humus fondrejat, sherbet punch, chocolate covered strawberries and more wereserved as refreshments. She was also presented with dirty diapers that looked very real.
The invitations were in blue and had an original choo-choo train locomotive with a teddy bear waving at the window.
Some of the guests included: Lulu Itliong, Jenny Joyner, Janice Harris, Stacy Bieber, Melanie Carlson, Julia Rodriguez, Christine and Melissa Carlson, Jackie Carlson and Liliana Johse. There was plenty of baby talk. The young mothers, Jenifer, Shannon and Jama, were giving Nancy good advice of what worked for them when they had their babies. Nancy is a beautiful young woman who married her prince in a dreamy ceremony in the old Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. She and international Mexican businessman Francisco Alvarez got married in an open chapel by the sea in a Roman Catholic ceremony attended by the Alvarez family and most of the Carlson clan besides many friends of the couple.
The hostesses gave Nancy a cradle swing for Massimo Sebastian.
Nancy's sister Debbie Carlson is a new bride. She married E.J. Lee in Hawaii in St. Peter's Church located just next to Kahalu'u Beach. It was performed and blessed by a Catholic priest in a tiny wooden church with tiny wood pews all painted green. This chapel was built alongside a heiau, an ancient Hawaiian religious site. E.J.'s family live in Atlanta where his dad is a businessman and his mother, an OB-GYN specialist.
Nancy and E.J. are making their home in California where he is producing animated movies. Jackie just got the pictures of the wedding that are absolutely beautiful. Again, the whole Carlson clan was there, as was the Lee family. For now Jackie and Tom can stay home and relax for a while. Our best wishes to them.
