Brahma JV deadlocks with Brazos

WALLIS - East Bernard and Brazos junior varsity football teams battled to 22-22 standoff Thursday night at Cougar Stadium.

East Bernard jumped out to a 6-0 lead in the first quarter on a 3-yard run by Zach Castillo.

The 2-point conversion try failed.

Jermayne Perkins scored on a 5-yard scamper in the second quarter and added the 2-point conversion to put the Brahmas up 14-0.

Brazos answered with two touchdowns in the third quarter to tie the game at 14- 14.

The Brahmas went up 20-14 in the fourth quarter on a 1-yard run by Castillo.

Quarterback Justin Breedlove passed to Miles Locke for the 2-point conversion to make it 22-14.

Brazos answered with a touchdown and 2-point conversion to tie the score.

Josh Castillo recovered a fumble in the first quarter and Jacob Hough had an interception in the second quarter.

Breedlove completed passes to Zach Sprague and Lee.

East Bernard owns a 4-3-1 season record and is 2-1-1 in District 27-2A play.
