Bulldogs' 4th quarter effort falls short
Leopards hold on for 34-32 District 27-2A win

BOLING - Van Vleck survived a late rally by Boling to take a 34-32 victory Friday night at Bulldog Stadium.

After Sean Hollis connected with Kalin Ray for a 5 yard touchdown pass, Hollis pass fell incomplete on the 2- point conversion attempt leaving the score 34-32 with only :29 left on the clock.

The Bulldogs attempted an onsides kick but the ball did not roll 10 yards and the Leopards took over at the Bulldog 43 and ran out the clock.

On the Bulldogs first drive of the game on first and 10 from midfield the Leopards were called for offsides and Justin Hobbs rolled around the left side and was tackled near the sideline.

Hobbs appeared to suffer a season ending wrist injury on the play.

The Bulldogs were forced to punt on the drive and the Leopards took over at their own 7 yardline.

The Leopards were forced to punt on their next possesion and the Bulldogs took over at their own 35 with 4:27 left in the quarter.

On second and 2 from the Leopard 15, B.W. McLeod ran for 13 yards to the Leopard 2 yardline and then ran the ball in on the next play for a touchdown.

The extra point was no good leaving the score 6-0 with 1:17 left in the quarter.

The Leopards were forced to punt on their next possesson and the Bulldogs took over at their own 35 with 11:40 left in the half.

On fourth and 4 from the Leopard 23 yardline the Leopards were called for offsides and the Bulldogs picked up a first down at the Leopard 18.

Two plays later Hollis and Ray connected for a 16 yard touchdown pass. The 2-point conversion attempt was no good leaving the score 12-0 with 9:04 left in the half.

On the Leopards next possession, on third and 9, Michael Alliniece picked up 19 yards and the Bulldogs were flagged for a personal foul giving the Leopards the ball at the Bulldog 10.

On the next play Torrian Miller ran the ball in for a touchdown.

Cheavon Richardson's extra point made the score 12-7 with 6:55 left in the half.

On the Bulldogs' next drive, McLeod ran the ball in from 28 yards out for a touchdown.

Hollis connected with McLeod for the 2-point conversion making the score 20-7 with 4:07 left in the half.

On the Leopards' next drive, Alliniece ran the ball in from 15 yards out for a touchdown.

The extra point attempt was no good leaving the score 20-13 with 2:03 left in the half.

On the first drive of the second half, Alliniece ran the ball in from 4 yards out for a touchdown.

The extra point attempt was no good leaving the score 20-19 with 9:51 left in the third quarter.

The Bulldogs drove to the Leopard 13 yardline on their next possession but fumbled the ball and the Leopards took over at their own 15 with 5:52 left in the third quarter.

The Leopards drove to the Bulldog 7 yardline and on fourth and 2, Alliniece ran the ball in for a touchdown.

Miller ran the ball in for the 2-point conversion making the score 27-20.

On the Leopards next possession, they drove to the Bulldog 6 yardline and Miller ran the ball in on the next play. Richardson's extra point made the score 34-20 with 10:01 left in the game.

The Bulldogs drove to the Leopard 10 yardline on their next drive and McLeod connected with Hollis on a halfback pass for a touchdown.

The 2-point conversion attempt was no good leaving the score 34-26 with 7:46 left in the game.

The Bulldogs totaled 356 yards for the game.

McLeod ran for 208 yards on 28 carries.

The Leopards totaled 451 yards led by Miller who rushed for 131 yadrs on 20 carries and Alliniece ran for 124 yards on 14 carries.

The Bulldogs drop to 1-5 on the season and 0-2 in District 27-2Aplay and travel to Hitchcock next Friday.

The Bulldogs from Galveston county beat Clear Springs 58-22 in a non-district game Friday night.

East Bernard beat rival Brazos 21-14 Friday night at Memorial Stadium.
