Norman Chicoine Funeral services for Norman Joseph "Chick" Chicoine Sr., 69, of Sugar Land will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at Holy Family Catholic Church in Wharton with Rev. Bryan Heyer officiating. Burial will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park Cemetery with military graveside honors provided by American Legion Post No. 87 of Wharton. Visitation will be held at Wharton Funeral Home from 5 to 8 p.m. Sunday. Mr. Chicoine died Oct. 16, 2007 at his residence in Sugar Land following an extended illness. He was born on Dec. 26, 1937 in Boston, Mass., the son of the late Raymond Chicoine and Lucille Lamoureux Chicoine. He was a resident of the Sugar Land area most of his life and was a member of St. Laurence Catholic Church in Sugar Land. After graduating from Biddeford High School in Biddeford, Ma., he served four years in the U.S. Air Force, receiving an honorable discharge. He married Magdalen Rolf on Nov. 29, 1958 at Christ the King Catholic Church in Newgulf. He was employed by Houston Lighting and Power Co. in the maintenance department at the Thompsons Power Plant until his retirement in 1995. Mr. Chicoine was preceded in death by his adoptive parents, James and Ernestine Wynne; brother, Raymond Wynne; and sister, Louise Cyr. Survivors include his wife, Maggie Chicoine of Sugar Land; daughter, Shelia Brown and husband Joel of New Braunsfels; son, Norman Chicoine Jr. of Canyon Lake; brother, Roger Chicoine and wife Rose; sister, Theresa Pinette and husband Maurice; five grandchildren and many nieces and nephews in New England and Texas. |
