Joan Hayes

Funeral services for Joan Colton Hayes, 68, of Wharton, will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at New Faith Church. Burial will follow in Wharton City Cemetery. Visitation is from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Hayes died Oct. 13, 2007 at her residence. She was born July 31, 1939 in Wharton to the late Nathan Colton and Beatrice Whitehead.

She worked as a health care provider and was retired.

Survivors include daughters, Karen Hayes Taylor of Missouri City and Jeanetta Hayes Marbles of Wharton; sons, Bryan Petitt Sr. of Missouri City and Leonard Hayes Sr. of Wharton; brother, Benny McDonald of Wharton; 10 grandchildren and 13 greatgrandchildren.
