Bowen headlines Needville Harvest Festival Saturday

Rain or shine, the 24th Annual Needville Harvest Festival will come alive Friday and Saturday.

It will be held at Festival Park which is located on Highway 36 behind the Knights Of Columbus Hall.

Gates open at 8 a.m.

There will be arts and craft booths, games, clothing, jewelry, yard art, and much more from more than 100 vendors who will set up at the park.

Headlining this year's musical entertainment event will be singer-songwriter Wade Bowen and local musician Ryan James.

Other entertainment includes a talent contest, the- Little Mr. & Miss contest, the Harvest Festival Queen Contest, and numerous activities for all ages including a carnival, games and rides, and face painting.

There will be a wide variety of foods to satisfy one's tastebuds including everything from hamburgers to kabobs, and from corn on the cob to turkey legs.

There will also be the fifth annual cook-off with barbecue categories in brisket, pork ribs, pork loins, chicken and fajitas.

There will also be categories for "Ladies' Choice," "Best Margarita," and "Overall Champion."

Tickets are sold in two sections: daytime and evening.

Those only wishing to stay until 6 p.m. may purchase a wristband for $5.

Those who would like to stay past 6 p.m. will need to purchase a different colored wristband for $10. This wristband will allow visitors to enjoy the Festival all day and have access the Wade Bowen concert Saturday Night.

Daytimers who decide to stay past 6 p.m., may upgrade their wristband for another $5.

The gate admission fee is $10 for everyone after 6 p.m. except for children 6 years old or younger. Their admission is free.
