Cattle prices continue to fall

The Texas Department of Agriculture market recap for the week ending Oct. 6 shows that the average cash feeder cattle price continues to decline with added concerns about how much wheat pasture will be available for grazing this year.

However, trends at local auction markets were uneven, ranging from $7 per hundredweight lower to $5 higher depending on the location and condition of cattle being offered.
