Danbury shocks Lady Bulldogs

BOLING - Boling slipped to third place in the District 27-2A volleyball standings after losing to Danbury in five games Friday afternoon in The Doghouse.
The Lady Panthers rallied from a two game deficit to win the match.
Boling won the first two games 25- 22, 25-21 but the Lady Panthers won the next three 29-27, 25-17, 15-13.
"We pretty much snatched defeat from the jaws of victory," said Boling coach John Black. "We gave them one in our house."
With the score tied 27-27 in the third game, Danbury took advantage of a service error to pull it out. With the score tied 13-13 in the fifth game, Danbury pulled it out again.
"We made more mistakes than they did," said Black. "Our mistakes came at inopportune times."
The Lady Bulldogs entered Tuesday's home match against league-leading Brazos with a 3-2 district record while the Cougarettes came in 5-0 after beating Hitchcock
"We have to forget about it and have a short term memory," said Black. "That's the way athletics has to be."
Second place Danbury was 4-1 and played 2-3 East Bernard last night.
The Lady Bulldogs play Danbury again on Friday but it will be played at Panther Gymnasium.
"Now it will make it much tougher for us," said Black. "Our week, Danbury's week and East Bernard's week are probably important. They will go a lot to set the standings."
Boling was without the services of setter MacKenzie Baker and hitter Charae Grosser who were injured.
Jessica Moore finished with eight kills and four digs for the Lady Bulldogs.
Stephanie Rachunek had six kills and three blocks. Ebony Ashley had 10 kill with 19 assists, 13 digs and four blocks.
Whitney Rachunek had four kills with 16 assists, 12 digs and one block. Kierra Jackson had two kills and two blocks.
Katie Womack had 13 kills and 15 digs. Kelli Ermis had 14 digs, Caprice Lorenzen had seven and Kesley Stolle had eight with one kill and one block.
Boling's junior varsity beat Danbury 25-21, 18-25, 25-19 to improve to 3-2 in district and 9-13 on the season.
The freshman lost 25-12, 23-25, 25- 15 to slip to 0-4 in district and to 4-16 on the season.
