Vera Thorpe

Funeral services for Vera Lee Thorpe, 88, of Iago, were held Tuesday at Old Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. R. Felder officiating. Burial followed in Old Bethlehem Cemetery.

Mrs. Thorpe died Oct. 3, 2007 at Memorial Hermann Southwest Hospital in Houston. She was born June 11, 1919 in Newgulf to Henry and Emma Laws Turner.

Survivors are sons, Joe Thorpe and Peter Thorpe, both of Missouri City; sister, Eleanor Penrice of Newgulf; five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
