Edna Thompson-Coleman

Funeral services for Edna Jean Thompson-Coleman, 54, will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at True Light Missionary Baptist Church No. 2 located at 788 Enterprise in Houston with Pastor Doris Ellis officiating.

Viewing will be Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at McCoy and Harrison Funeral Home on Martin Luther King Blvd. in Houston.

Mrs. Thompson-Coleman was born in El Campo on Feb. 27, 1953 to Robert Louis Thompson Sr. and Myrtle Marie Henderson-Thompson.

She attended E.A. Greer High School and El Campo ISD and upon graduation in 1972 she moved to Houston. She worked as a manager for Church's, Richmond State School and was a superviser at Park Plaza Hospital for 24 years.

Survivors include husband, Arthur Coleman; son and daughter-in-law, Reginald and Renea Coleman; daughter, Rachel Coleman; adopted son, Cer' Derrick Miller; mother, Myrtle Thompson of El Campo; brothers, Robert Thompson Jr. of Houston, Ivory Thompson Sr. of Kansas City, Mo., and Thomas Thompson of El Campo; sisters, Ruth Bluntson of Houston, Eloise Thompson and Zula Thompson, both of El Campo; brothers-in-law, Ervin, Willis, Lionel, Willie and Jeff Coleman; sisters-inlaw, Juanita Sanders, Audrey Sanders and Diane Coleman; and six grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her father, Robert Thompson Sr.; sisters, Alice Baylor and Mary Hargrove; and brothers, David Thompson and Joshua Thompson Sr.
