Elgie Richardson

Funeral services for Elgie Lee Richardson Sr., 74, of Wharton will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Faith Temple COGIC with Pastor G. Alexander officiating. Burial will follow in Wharton City Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday from 6 to 9 p.m. Friends may call after 1 p.m. Friday.

Mr. Richardson died Oct. 4, 2007 in Humble at his residence. He was born June 4, 1933 in Kossie to Willie and Susie Arnold Richardson.

Surviving are his wife, Ruby Allen Stephens of Humble; sons, Elgie Temple of Houston, Elgie Lee Richardson Jr. of Bay City, Oscar Richardson of Wharton, Louis Richardson of Dallas and Paul Stephens of Cold Springs; daughter, Odessa Cunningham of Humble; brothers, Eligah Richardson of Wharton, Decline Richardson of Hungerford and Johnny Richardson of Wharton; five grandchildren and two greatgrandchildren.
