New reads arrive at Wharton County Library

If you are looking for just the right book to read, come to the library and check out the latest titles and book displays.

The newest Book Page, October issue, has just arrived - they're available free at the front desk.

Or if looking for a particular title and do not see it listed in the catalog, ask us about ILL (interlibrary loan).

The library may be able to get the title by mail from another library - it may come from another library in Texas or from across the country.

The fee is $1 to help cover postage costs. To get more information, contact the library at 532-8080.

Teen Week is Oct. 14 to 20 and Wharton County Library will have a special display to celebrate it.

Teens may check out the teen nook, look for the blinking stop sign. There's a CD player for listening to books on CD, magazines and graphic novels, as well as books and paperbacks for teens to check out.

This year's slogan is "LOL @ Your Library." Check out the booklist at the library to find a good humorous book to read just for the fun of it.

Thursday, Oct. 18 from noon to 1 p.m. is the Brown Bag Book Club meeting.

This month's selection is Water for Elephants by Sara Gruen.

Feel free to bring a lunch and join in a lively discussion.

The Apron Program in September was a great success with about 30 in attendance. Thanks to Jerry Smaistrla and Marilyn Sebesta and library staff for their hard work in preparing for the program.
