8th grade Bulls suffer loss

EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's 8th grade football team suffered a 30- 16 loss to Van Vleck Thursday afternoon at Memorial Stadium.

Van Vleck went up 16-0 at halftime after picking up touchdowns and 2point conversions in the first and second quarters.

East Bernard came back to make it a 16-8 game in the third quarter on a 2- yard run by Drew Vincik and a 2-point conversion by Octavious Jimenez.

The Leopards responded with a touchdown and extra point kick before the quarter ended to make it 23-8.

Jimenez then scored on a 5-yard run early in the fourth quarter and Donnell Schuler added the 2-point conversion to bring the score to 23-16.

Offensive standouts for the Brahmas included Aric Matura, Gabriel Osuna, Cody Hundl, Mitch Williams, Eric Pribyl, Eric Riley and Brad Brummer.

Defensive standouts included Andrew Boettcher, Cody Ognoskie, Jontrey Goff and Nathan Korenek.

EB, now 2-1 on the season and 1-1 in District 27-2A play, visits Hitchcock next Thursday.
