BOLING - Boling continued its domination over county rival East Bernard in Tuesday's District 27-2A volleyball match in the Dog House.

The Lady Bulldogs avoided a fifth game after rallying from a 18-12 deficit to win 25-19.

Boling won the first two games by identical 25-21 scores and the Brahmarettes won the third 25-14.

"It's always a big win to beat East Bernard," said Boling coach John Black.

It was the Lady Bulldogs' second time this year to beat the Brahmarettes. The first win came in the Edna Tournament.

"I applaud them," said Black of East Bernard. "They really stepped it up in game two and took it too us in game three."

East Bernard first year coach Kelly Novicke said several service errors throughout the match proved costly

"When you can't serve you can't win," said EB coach Kelly Novicke. "We missed a lot of key serves in all the games and that didn't help in the fourth one.

"I told the girls we can't win until we fix that. Until then we're trying to beat the other team including ourselves."

Boling appeared to lose its momentum at the end of the second game. Up 23-14, MacKenzie Baker over-extended her injured (ACL) knee and didn't return.

The Brahmarettes came back to make it 23-20 before Boling closed it out. The Brahmarettes stepped it up in the third game and played lights-out to beat the Lady Bulldogs by 11 points.

A service ace by Morgan Perez gave the Brahmarettes an 18-12 lead in the fourth game.

Boling, on the serving of Ebony Ashley as well as East Benard hitting errors, battled back and went on a 9-0 run to go up 21-18.

A kill by Bev Kresta gave the Brahmarettes their final point to make it 21- 19. She served the ball out of bounds to leave Boling with a 22-19 lead.

Another hitting error and kill by Katie Womack gave Boling match point.

After a Brahmarette time out, Boling ended the match on an out-ofbounds hit.

"You have to give our girls a lot of credit," said Boling coach John Black. "They played with a lot of heart after MacKenzie went down. They did a great job of finishing it off.

"You never want to go in the fifth game and they would have had the momentum."

Boling improved to 3-1 in the district standings and hosted Danbury, who had the same record, on Friday. The Lady Panthers lost to Brazos who was 4-0 before playing 1-4 Hitchcock.

East Bernard slipped to 1-3 hosted Van Vleck last night.

Charae Grosser led Boling's offensive atack with nine kills. She also had six blocks and 12 digs.

Stephanie Rachunek finished with three kills and two blocks and sister Whitney had one kill and eight digs.

Jessica Moore had five kills. Ashley finished with five kills, two blocks, eight digs and two aces.

Womack totaled up 15 kills, two blocks and 12 digs. Baker had four kills with four digs, two aces and one block. Kelli Ermis had one kill and 14 digs. Kelsey Stolle had one kill and seven digs and Kierra Jackson had one block.

Haley Dawson led the Brahmarettes hitting attack with 11 kills. Kresta finished with eight. Tara Hlavinka and Perez had four each. Candice Dusek and Laura Kubes had two each.

Kresta had four aces and Dusek had three.
