4-H members participate in Dairy

Five Wharton County youth gave up sleeping in on Saturday morning to hook up their trailers, load up their dairy cattle, and head up to the Fayette County Fair.
Kennedy Couvillion entered the Pee Wee Showmanship contest and came out of the arena with a blue ribbon and a bag full of goodies.
Kory Couvillion of the 4-H Saddle Club entered her 2006-2007 WCYF Dairy Merit Heifer in the Junior Yearling Class and received first in class.
Kyler Couvillion of the 4-H Saddle Club entered his 2006-2007 WCYF Bucket Calf in the Summer Heifer Calf class and brought home first in class.
Brooke Wallace of Boling Junior FFA entered her 2007-2008 WCYF Dairy Merit Heifer in the Junior Heifer Class and received first in class.
She also entered her Winter Yearling heifer and placed third in class.
Kyler, Kory, and Brooke took their first in class animals back into the arena to compete for Junior Champion Heifer.
Clint George of 4-H Saddle Club entered with his Fall Heifer Calf and took third in class. He also entered an animal in the Two Year Old Cow class taking third place and another in the Aged Cow class taking first place.
Clint then was able to take his Aged Cow and compete for Grand and Reserve Champion Senior Female. Clint George's Aged Cow won Reserve Champion Senior Cow.
All of the youth can hardly wait for the next dairy show as this was the official start to the show season.
