Tiger freshman drop 24-3A football opener to Sealy

Wharton's freshman football team dropped it's District 24-2A opener 19-0 to Sealy Thursday afternoon at Tiger Stadium.

Sealy got a touchdown and extra point kick to go up 7-0 in the second quarter.

The Tigers of Austin County added two more touchdowns in the fourth quarter to go up 19-0.

Offensive standouts for Wharton included DeShavian Williams who picked up 36 yards on eight carries.

Freddie Anderson caught one pass for 12 yards and Rodney Clark caught one pass for 10 yards.

Nehmiah Hardeman was a standout at center.

David Zaskoda and Daryl Barnes were special team players.

Defensive standouts included Ken Lowerly who had a pass intercpetion, Freddie Anderson, Rodney Clark, Brian DeLeza, Hardeman and Williams.

The freshmen Tigers, now 0-4 on the season, play Royal in Brookshire next Thursday.
