Brahma JV wins 27-2A opener over Danbury

EAST BERNARD - East Bernard's junior varsity football team beat Danbury 28-0 in Thursday's District 27-2A opener at Memorial Stadium.

Zach Rivera scored the Brahmas' first touchdown in the first quarter on a 2-yard run.

Quarterback Justin Breedlove passed to C.J. Clifton for the 2-point conversion for a 8-0 Brahma lead.

Rivera scored on a 3-yard in the second quarter to make it 14-0. The conversion try failed. Rivera scored on another 3-yard run in the third quarter and Jermayne added the 2-point conversion to put EB up 22-0.

John Demny scored the Brahmas' last touchdown on a 19-yard run in the fourth quarter.

East Bernard's defense caused five fumbles. Miles Lee recovered two. Nick Guerra had an interception late in the game.

Other defensive standouts included Justin Polak, Jacob Floyd, Zach Rivera and Cody Rivera.

Zach Rivera rushed for 108 yards. He caught two passes for 47 yards.

Perkins picked up 80 yards on seven carries and Clifton added 75 yards on seven carries.

Breedlove completed three of six passes for 50 yards.

EB, now 3-2 on the season, plays at Van Vleck next Thursday.
