St. John's dedicates addition

St. John's Lutheran Church of Wharton will celebrate the dedication of its newest addition this coming Sunday, and the public is invited to join the festivities.

The church, built in 1929, has been enlarged and remodeled to include an all-weather entrance, new offices, restrooms and meeting rooms. A nursery and Sunday School rooms have also been added. The church's pastor is Rev. Barry Sharp.

The dedication service begins at 3 p.m. Sunday at the church, 614 Pecan St. Refreshments will be served in the parish hall following the ribbon-cutting and tour of the new facilities.
