Athletic boosters name new officers
Booster club members work very hard selling Boling Green Out T-shirts and other spirit items, running the concession stand for volleyball and basketball games, and numerous other activities to raise funds to support our Bulldog and Lady Bulldog athletes. Thank you to the parents who have volunteered this year, especially those who have worked the volleyball and football games. Your dedication is greatly appreciated. Anyone interested in becoming a member is invited to join on Monday, Oct. 1 at 7 p.m. in the film room at the BHS Gym. Dues are $5. The Boling Athletic Department is selling coupon cards. Each card sells for $20, but has more than $300 in savings to local restaurants and stores. This is a great value and serves as their only fundraiser for the year. Contact any of the Bulldog athletes or high school coaches if you want to lend support to this hard-working group of student-athletes. The Boling Junior FFA will hold its October meeting this Tuesday at 6:30 p.m. in the AgriScience Building at Boling High School. There will also be a brief meeting afterward for all students showing a hog at the Wharton County Youth Fair. The Boling Lions Club Carnival is scheduled for next Saturday, Oct. 6, at Boling High School. Make plans now to come out and support the various school clubs and community organizations. Boling High School Student Council will be hosting their annual cake auction at the Boling Lions Club Carnival at 7:30 p.m. If anyone is interested in buying a cake and cannot attend, please contact Patti Hubenak at 657-2506 or 657- 2748. The Boling High School Library Club elected new officers at their last meeting. The 20072008 officers are: President Alyssa Kulak; Vice-President Kelsey Stolle; Secretary Haley Hubenak; Treasurer Kacie Kahanek; Reporter Katie Womack; and Parliamentarian Kelli Ermis. The sponsor for the Library Club is Leann Eldridge. At the Sept. 25 meeting they had a guest speaker, Carlos Pinto, a native of Honduras. He spoke about his native country, his immigration experience and thankfulness to now be a citizen of the USA. The Library Club will be sponsoring a book fair the last week in November. Don't forget tickets for the Chicken Spaghetti Dinner scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 14, from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is to assist Kerbe Ford and Maegan Rolf in their trip to London for the New Year's Day Parade. Faith Christian Academy and For All Seasons Trade Days is scheduled for next Saturday, Oct. 6, from 10 a.m. until 6 p.m. at the corner of Armstrong and Richmond.
